In 2020, CVDA dancers Sophia Chambliss, Kennedy George, Shania Gordon, and Ava Holloway created a non profit organization called Brown Ballerinas for Change after going viral for their picture in front of the Robert E Lee Monument. These four CVDA dancers created this organization to promote social justice and diversity in the arts. Central Virginia Dance Academy is proud to support their organization by providing a fundraiser for BBFC this April at our Spring Gala.
